Amanda’s work is rooted in the belief that healing begins with feeling safe. She partners with children, adolescents, and families to better understand their nervous systems, strengthen their capacity for regulation, and build relationships that support resilience and genuine connection.
Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science from Missouri State University, concentrating in Psychology, Biomedical Science, and Criminal Justice, and later completed her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Missouri–St. Louis.
She went on to complete a two‑year Advanced Psychoanalytic Program at the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute, deepening her understanding of development, attachment, and the ways early experiences shape the nervous system and our patterns of relating.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Counselor Supervisor, Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), Certified School Counselor (K–8), Registered Play Therapist, and EMDR‑trained clinician, Amanda integrates neuroscience, attachment theory, and experiential approaches to help clients move toward greater regulation and connection. Her work emphasizes co‑regulation, attunement, and the creation of a therapeutic environment where the body can shift out of survival states and into a felt sense of safety.
Amanda draws from Play Therapy, EMDR, Theraplay‑informed interventions, sand‑tray therapy, and somatic practices that support mindful awareness of internal states. She helps clients notice their physiological cues, understand their adaptive responses, and develop intentional strategies that expand their capacity for self‑regulation.

Deciding to begin therapy is a brave and meaningful choice, and you don’t have to take the first step alone. Julianna meets clients with warmth, curiosity, and a nonjudgmental presence. Whether you’re coming in feeling stuck, overwhelmed, misunderstood, or simply unsure of what you or your child need, you’ll find a space where thoughts and emotions are welcomed with compassion and clarity. Rooted in a person-centered foundation, Julianna believes healing happens through genuine connection, emotional safety, and collaborative growth.
Julianna specializes in working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. She supports clients navigating anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, ADHD, behavioral concerns, perfectionism, family transitions, depression, relationship challenges, and school-related stress. She also partners closely with parents and caregivers, helping them better understand the emotions and needs underneath their child’s behaviors while building stronger connection and communication within the family system.
Julianna utilizes a Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) approach when working with children, creating developmentally appropriate spaces for emotional expression, problem-solving, and healing through play. She also incorporates creative interventions and social-emotional learning activities to help children build emotional awareness, coping skills, confidence, and resilience. For teens and young adults, she creates a supportive environment to explore identity, relationships, self-esteem, life transitions, and emotional challenges without fear of judgment.
Her approach integrates Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment-based principles, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Relational Cultural Therapy (RCT). Julianna values understanding the deeper emotional experiences and relationship patterns that shape how clients view themselves and connect with others. She strives to help clients feel seen, understood, and empowered while strengthening emotional regulation, self-trust, and meaningful relationships.
Julianna’s style is warm, collaborative, and flexible, meeting clients and families where they are. She prioritizes the therapeutic relationship as a space for safety, growth, authenticity, and sometimes even laughter. Whether helping a child navigate big emotions, supporting a teen through difficult transitions, or helping parents feel more confident and connected, she is committed to fostering healing and supportive relationships across the entire family system.
